Thomas Halloway was an independent crime-fighter operating during the 1940's under the codename of the Angel. He became one of SHIELD's founding members alongside Peggy Carter, Chester Phillips, and Howard Stark when Peggy heard about Thomas' heroic deeds from around town and brought him into the fold.
However, when a bystander was killed during one of Thomas' missions, he hung up his uniform, unwilling to risk more innocent lives in his fight against crime. This unfortunately led him to became a unwitting pawn of HYDRA, as, under the guidance of the Nazi scientist Arnim Zola, he helped develop the blueprints for the Underworld Scourge plan to be later developed by Cybertek Industries based on research from the Winter Soldier program.
Abilities[]
He was excellent hand-to-hand combatant and acrobat. He was also accomplished disguise artist, occult scholar and pilot. He had knowledge of many languages.
