Clint Francis Barton also known as Hawkeye, was formerly a agent of SHIELD and one of the first members of the Avengers team. Known for his archery-skills, Clint is perhaps the planet's greatest marksman, armed with an bow and arrows while often deploying his trick arrows to deal with the opponents. Clint was a rebel of sorts who would often clash with his superiors over a difference of opinion although Clint Barton wouldn't let a dislike of certain rules or individuals stop him from defending what he sees as right.

Early SHIELD Years[]
Clinton Barton was born on January 7, 1971, and spent much of his childhood in Waverly, Iowa. As he matured he developed an exceptional marksmanship skill and used it to great effect in SHIELD, in which Clint Barton got the code name Hawkeye. In one of his missions, he'd thwarted an assassination attempt on his life by an mercenary Marcus Scarlotti. Around the time he'd joined SHIELD, Clint met then formed his romantic relationship with a woman named Laura, whom he married. Of the SHIELD associates, a select few knew about his marriage, and Director Nick Fury had-excluded Clint's bride Laura Barton and children from SHIELD files so to protect them from any potential threats.
Later, he was tasked to carry out the assassination of a young Russian agent codenamed "Black Widow". However, instead of killing her, he opted to let her live, and discovered her true name, Natasha Romanoff. The relationship between the two developed a lasting partnership that continued through bringing her in to work for S.H.I.E.L.D. Together they had missions in Budapest, Abidjan and many other locations. The pair became so close that Romanoff was the only other agent Barton told about his family.

- Marksmanship: Clinton Barton is a skilled marksman with an exceptional ability in archery. His aim is such that he is able to send an arrow into a moving targets with pin point accuracy. He is versatile with the kinds of missile weapons he employs, and possesses an exceptional accuracy with thrown darts.
- Martial Arts: Barton is a competent martial artist, and fights with a style that occasionally employs his bow as a melee weapon in addition to his more conventional attacks.
